KNOLL COTTAGE PEACH MELBA
(STRAWBERRY FRAPPE X
STRAWBERRY CANDY) Tetraploid, Dormant, M, 30 inches tall, 4 inch flower, 1
to 2 lateral branches plus a Y with a 15 BC. Over the years, I have seen
the BC range from 15 up to 30. Pod and Pollen fertile. REBLOOMED
in 2008 on a mature clump. HARDY in Zone 5.
KNOLL COTTAGE PEACH MELBA is an enticing daylily and
Harry Bishop, the hybridizer of ITSY BITSY SPIDER, saw this daylily when it
first bloomed and said “If this was mine, I would drop to my knees and thank
God.” Another friend, Linda Ryer, helped me to name this lightly
rolled back, peach daylily with a somewhat narrow raspberry red eye.
It reminded her of peach melba pie made with peaches and raspberries,
thus the name KNOLL COTTAGE PEACH MELBA. No fragrance. SOLD OUT

bright and it has a deep yellow to green throat making this daylily very
cheery! No fragrance with this beauty. The unknown pollen parent for
WHIP CITY CARNIE is the first daylily I ever purchased and I never
recorded the name. A friend named it 'Lori’s Fall Promise' when I gave
her a division for her garden, so it does have a garden name. $60.00

WHIP CITY SLINKY SLIDE won the AHS Best Seedling Award at Tower Hill in MA in
2007. One of the first things that the Exhibition Judges look when
judging a seedling is that it has to be different than anything they
have seen. If it passes this first test, then they continue to evaluate
the seedling on merit and grooming. I was so pleased when seedling #03-392 won the AHS Best Seedling Award.
